Ali is a local lad, born at Ashford Hospital and grew up riverside in Staines.

He committed to continued advancement in dentistry so that he can offer the best care to all of his patients; Ali has completed a yearlong postgraduate certificate in Restorative Dentistry, has a Diploma in Prosthodontics, is currently completing a yearlong certificate in Aesthetic Dentistry. He is passionate about general, family and advanced restorative dentistry with a particular interest in providing exceptional dentures. He has trained with Professor Paul Tipton, a renowned prosthodontist and removable dentures with Finlay Sutton.

Before starting in dentistry, Ali completed a degree in Biomedical Science at Imperial College London then worked in the finance sector in the City and then within the pharmaceutical industry. Ali qualified as a dentist from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Whilst training, Ali was elected as the President for the Dental Students’ Union. Ali spent three years as a mentor for junior dental students and was awarded Academic Mentor of the Year for Dentistry. He also set up a website (www.dorkydentalstudent.com) where he blogs about dentistry and helps prospective applicants get into dental school. He has won multiple awards in dentistry, including from the British Society of Prosthodontics (BSSPD), ‘Rising Star’ Scholarship first runner up from the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD), the British Association for the Study of Community Dentistry (BASCD), a Bursary Award for Professionalism from the ADG: Association of Dental Groups. He won ‘Dental Student of the Year’ Highly Commended at the Future of Dentistry Awards.

In his final year, Ali won the Undergraduate Clinical Case Award by the RCPSG: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. After completing training at The Royal London Dental Institute, Ali moved to Cornwall to work as a general dentist for a year, surfing and cycling across the county when not in the clinic, before moving back to South West London to join as at Rothley Lodge Dental Practice where he now works full-time.

Aside from dentistry, Ali spends his time swimming, reading or in the kitchen cooking.
